The CUAAD was structured from the former Schools of Architecture (founded in 1948) as well as schools of Arts (1925) and Music (1952). Is comprised of three campuses, two of whom are remarkable architectural heritage of the historic center of Guadalajara, such as the former cloister of San Agustin and Santa Clara exclaustrated, the third site is located in a cluster of modern buildings framed by the spectacular scenery of the Gorge of Oblates.
The University Center is made up of three divisions: Design and projects, processes and technology and arts and humanities and the twelve departments listed below: Performing Arts, Arts Visual, Image and Sound, Music, Production and Development, Architectural Design, Communication Projects, Design Projects, Urban Projects, Representation, Construction Techniques and Theories and Stories.
offers 33 educational programs: 1 at baseline, 4 career average of 16 degree, 7 Masters and 1 PhD. The school population of 6.030 students, 699 professional medium, 5.213 undergraduate, 105 Masters and 13 PhD. Academic staff attends this enrollment is 587, of whom 201 are full professors.
The staff of scholars dedicated to research is 44 teacher-researchers full time and one part-time, 22 of these belong to the National System of Researchers (SNI) and a National System of Art Creators (SNCA).
To support academic activities, the University Center has four libraries, with titles 43.992 (64.911 volumes), also has 703 computer equipment for academic service.
